Photos from Munich, Germany - Day 1

Most of us made it to Munich on the 13th, but a few more arrive on the 14th.  We trickled into town and gathered around 1:30 pm for a train ride into the city after we checked into our hotel rooms, showered, brushed teeth, etc.  Most of us were exhausted from sleep deprivation, but we knew we had to keep active and power through the day so that we could adjust to the local time zone.

Kerrie Black, tour director of the day, figured out where to go and how to get there.  After boarding the "S" train, we transported to Marienplatz in Munich.  Marienplatz, or Mary's Square, is in the heart of Munich.  Lucky for us, the city was celebrating it's 857th birthday in the Marienplatz vicinity, complete with street vendors, beer gardens, food booths, pig roasts, traditional German attire and entertainment.  Amy Fiore said she "prefers to think of Germany as being like this every day of the year!"  The venue and level of activity were exactly what our group needed to power through the fatigue and get excited for this trip.  Can't wait to share more!  Check out our flickr account "forumdancetheatre" - follow us and we will give you access to our private (not public) flickr album from this trip!
